    It is a misconception that fats in our food intake are not good. We need fats in our diet, including saturated and unsaturated fats. One type of fat that we do not need, however, is trans fat. This is known to increase our risk of developing heart disease or having a stroke, due to its ability to clog arteries and raise our bad cholesterol levels.

    Trans fats are industry-produced fats that are often found in packaged baked goods, snack goods, margarine, and fried fast foods. Cut trans fat from your diet to improve blood flow throughout your body.

  2. Get Enough Sleep

    If you do not get the right amount of sleep, you may be at a higher risk for cardiovascular diseases, no matter what your age and health habits are. Researchers in the field of medical science believe that sleeping too little causes disruptions in the biological processes of our bodies, thus, causing complications which may lead to the rise of health conditions, such as high blood pressure.

  3. Do Not Sit for Too Long at One Time

    Research over the years has shown that staying seated for long periods of time is bad for your health, no matter how much exercise you do. Sitting down for too long at any given moment increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases, including stroke.
